Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. It colors all relationships that we build with our clients, funders and organizations to ensure the sustainability of our of the middle. It is this relationship of trust between true partners that is the foundation of the organization and it is on this collaboration that its development is built.
For nearly 150 years, the YWCA Quebec has been at the forefront of a gender equity movement that has evolved through the ages. Unconditional welcome has guided its services since its founding and safe and equitable inclusion for all is part of this tradition. With this in mind, in 2019 we have begun an EDI (Equity Diversity and Inclusion) capacity building process to ensure that we bring our values to life in every action we take both inside and outside the Y. The entire capacity building process invites the Y to diversify its human resources by positioning itself in favor of an open and inclusive society.
From these reflections on our values and practices, a Practice Framework to the large team of the YWCA of Québec in order to mark out the orientations and the actions to come. It proposes to adopt a common language, while valuing the pleasure of questioning our certainties. This framework is intended to highlight the singularities and specific needs of historically marginalized people, whether they are employees, volunteers or users, and should be revisited regularly to allow for an evolution of practices.
The guiding principles outlined in this framework of practice lead us to strive for an ideal. Today we want to make it available to everyone because we believe it can drive beautiful conversation and foster a more inclusive world.

Nous joignons notre voix à celle de la @[17841400702289590:@ywcacanada]. C'est en ce mois de juin que nous célébrons les combats passés, présents et à venir. Alors que les émeutes de Stonewall en 1969 ont lutté contre la violence à l'encontre des communautés 2SLGBTQIA+, aujourd'hui encore, de nombreuses organisations et activistes se battent toujours pour obtenir et maintenir leurs droits fondamentaux.
Au cours des trois dernières années, nous avons assisté à une augmentation de la violence à l'encontre des membres de la communauté 2SLGBTQIA+ au Canada.
