After a stay in transitional housing at the Y, a woman* can obtain community support to maintain her assets, maintain her residential stability and break the isolation. Priority is given to women who have benefited from our housing services. This community support is provided in different ways :
HOUSING OBNL
We own an 18-unit housing NPO for single autonomous women. These units are at a cost of 25% of the resident’s income and the women must qualify for the rental support program. EThey can reside there for a maximum period of 5 years.
ROOMING HOUSE
We have a rooming house that can accommodate 14 women with or without children. The cost of the rooms is based on the person’s income. The period of accommodation varies according to the needs. It is the first non-mixed rooming house in Quebec City.
PARTNERSHIP HOUSING
We have partnership agreements with the OMHQ and Immeuble populaire de Québec. We provide community support for residents living in buildings owned by our partners. We support more than 25 women or families through these partnerships. The hosting period varies depending on the partner.
All of these units are at a cost of 25% of the resident’s income and the women must be eligible for the criteria of the rent support program.
OTHER ACCOMMODATIONS
For women who leave for other housing or rooming houses after a stay at our transitional housing, community support is available monthly with a shelter worker. A request must be made and will be evaluated based on the needs and capabilities of the team.
