Since 2002, the YWCA Quebec has been offering its
Leaders and Decision Makers Training to all women between the ages of 17 and 65 who wish to become involved in decision-making bodiesThis 5-course course, led by experienced trainers, provides participants with relevant and concrete tools that will give them the confidence to get involved and make a difference in society.
In addition to increasing the number of women on boards of directors, this training also aims to reach out to visible minority women and increase diversity in decision-making bodies.
In order to make some of these tools accessible to a larger number of women, we have developed a condensed version of the training that is available online for free. In this way, we hope to sensitize, inform, train and eventually motivate a greater number of women to further their training or to join a CA directly.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ADMINISTRATOR

Trainer: Nancy-Anne Walsh, Consultant and Trainer to Community Groups

The objectives of this first course are to better understand the concept of “board of directors” and to learn about the powers, rights, duties and responsibilities of a responsible director.

MEETING PROCEDURES AND FORMS

Trainer: Nancy Gagnon, Trainer, consultant and meeting facilitator.
This second course focuses on the General Assembly. How, for whom, why and when we organize it. The second part deals with the concrete ways in which we participate.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Trainer: France Tremblay, CPA and Business Architect at IA Financial Group
This third course covers accounting and financial concepts, the components of financial statements and financial ratios. In Part 2, the trainer analyzes in more detail the financial statements and the annual report of the YWCA Quebec, she addresses relevant questions that directors may ask when analyzing the financial statements and other additional elements to know.
